Houston is home to many shopping districts. Each location is special in its own way, and each one uses its surroundings to make it unique. While planning your summer shopping experience, make sure to check out the top places in Houston:

River Oaks District

If you’re wanting to take your shopping experience to a whole new level, the River Oaks District is the place to visit. The shopping district offers valet parking as well as a free self-parking garage, so you don’t have to worry about the little things.

When it comes to retail, it doesn’t get much better than this. Make your next fashion statement at Dolce & Gabbana, and then accessorize at Tom Ford. When you’re ready for lunch, stop at the ever so popular East Hampton Sandwich Co. for some healthy fare.

Make a stop at the Thornwood Gallery to get a taste of fine art, and spend a couple of hours at iPic Theaters, an upscale movie theater that caters to you. As the day turns into night, experience fine dining at Steak 48 or Le Colonial.

The River Oaks District has over 40 different stores and restaurants, so you can spend days on end enjoying what the area has to offer.

Rice Village

For those looking for quality shopping in a laid-back setting, Rice Village is the place to visit. Tucked away in the shadow of Rice University, Rice Village, in a way, is a hidden gem because you can easily miss it if you aren’t looking for it.

Start your morning with a healthy breakfast at Black Walnut Cafe or try something new at Coco Crepes, Waffles and Coffee. Rice Village allows you to stay up to date on the latest trends by visiting Banana Republic and White House Black Market.

When you’re ready for lunch, head over to Hopdoddy Burger Bar or grab a bite at the newly-opened Shake Shack. After lunch, be sure to pamper yourself at Beautique Day Spa and Salon.

It’s hot, so take a break and enjoy Steel City Pops. End the day by dining at El Meson, the award-winning Tex-Mex and Cuban restaurant that features Tapas.

The Galleria

You can’t have a list of shopping places without including at least one mall. The Houston Galleria, located just west of the 610 loop near Interstate 69, is the place to go for the overall shopping experience. With 400 stores and 30 million visitors every year, The Galleria is the most popular shopping destination in Houston, and rightly so.

Drop your car off at one of the six valet locations or park in one of the six garages to get your day started. Grab yourself a quick breakfast at la Madeleine or Chick Fil A so you’re fueled up and ready to shop ’til you drop.

Name any popular mall store, and The Galleria has it: H&M, Abercrombie & Fitch and Nordstrom to name a few. Whatever latest fashion trend you want to explore, The Galleria has the resources you need.

Most malls have an ice rink, but what makes Ice at The Galleria special is that it’s in an atrium setting. Enjoy skating while taking in breathtaking views of the Houston sky. One of the coolest features of The Galleria is that you can watch live TV with “Houston Life” being filmed every weekday at 1pm.

The dining at The Galleria is second to none. The typical mall options are there, but the elevated dining experience is also present. Enjoy a juicy steak at Del Frisco’s or feast upon a New York Strip Steak & Eggs at 51fifteen’s weekend brunch.

With shopping options all over Houston, you have the whole summer to make the most of what your city has to offer!
